In Nepal, the use of domestic elephants has been deeply intertwined with local culture for centuries. At Elephant Nature Park, rescue is just the beginning. Once elephants complete their quarantine, our mission is to help them rediscover what it means to be part of a family to return to a herd. Elephants are deeply social beings, naturally bonded to their herd. Yet most captive elephants live in isolation, controlled by humans, deprived of companionship, and forced to work until their final days. Many mothers are separated from their calves, and most never feel the love of a herd again. But at E
