🥚 Christmas Lectures iconic object no. 2 - from 2022 with Sue Black We hard-boiled two ostrich eggs to shoot them with a BB gun, to demonstrate bullet wounds on skulls. It took two hours to hard boil them, and we ended up dyeing one green for contrast on-camera, which made it look rather like a cassowary egg. Again, it was an ostrich egg. We'd do anything for science – but not get anywhere near a cassowary. 📺 The 2024 Christmas Lectures will be on BBC Four and iPlayer 29, 30 and 31 December |
