Roy Boney, who oversees the Cherokee Nation Language department, has created an illustrated version of the story of the Cherokees fleeing their home island on canoes. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians helped close tonight's #CherokeeDays reception at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian with a social dance featuring the three Cherokee tribes and visitors.
