Twas The Night Before Christmas is my favorite Rankin/Bass Christmas special they do. I absolutely love this cartoon. This one really does make me remember my childhood and all the good times I had as a kid growing up. Rankin/Bass made A LOT of stop-motion Christmas (and other holiday) specials, but it's hard to argue against the stance that the best three are Rudolph (1964), Santa Claus is Coming' to Town (1970), and The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974). The Year Without a Santa Claus has Heat Miser and Snow Miser, Santa trying to finagle his was out of his one day of work per year, and Blue Christmas for some reason.
