👻Built in 1855, the Maxwell Mansion was the first mansion built in Lake Geneva by Dr. Philip Maxwell, a Chicago Surgeon who was well-known for throwing wild extravagant parties at the mansion. We stayed in the Grant Suite, which is where Ulysses Grant stayed when he visited there in the 1800s. This is apparently the most haunted room in the hotel and there have been reports of objects moving and the feeling of being tapped on the shoulder.
