The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has found that medical bills on credit reports can be inaccurate & unfairly force people to pay bills they don’t owe in order to avoid a bad credit result. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has done tremendous work to understand the problem & is considering a rule to prohibit medical bills on credit reports.
