Every time Scripture describes Jesus after the resurrection he is seated at the right hand of God. Psalm 110. Hebrews 1. Mark 16. Always seated. Except once. Acts 7. Stephen is being stoned outside the city. He looks up and sees Jesus standing. In the ancient world a judge was seated. But a witness stood to acknowledge what they had seen. Jesus stood for Stephen.
