Luke Kelly died on this day 30th Jan, 1984. He is without doubt one of the most influential Irish singers ever. His memory lives on in the many songs he sang and one poem in particular he wrote called “For what died the sons of Roisin”. As a small tribute to Luke today I post music and a video to accompany his words mixed with with an old Trad tune (The Star of Munster). We recorded this song a few years ago.
