Great white egret with a double catch 🐟 it took its catch to land so when it drops one it doesn’t lose it …and it does drop one …ate one then picked up the one it dropped and ate that one . I couldn’t capture it eating both fish as it went out of sight for one of them . Our North-East Reserves team captured this wonderful footage of a great white egret wading through a scrape at our Dingle Marshes nature reserve! These beautiful birds are a member of the heron family and look very similar to a little egret, however much larger. Once rare in the UK, sightings of great white egret (Ardea alba) have become more common over the last few decades, particularly in wetland nature reserves in East Anglia and South-East England. 🎥 footage captured on a trail camera set-
