Cobain hated being called a sell out especially by his old peers. When Nirvana came out, all the punk/alt clubs got packed with new people. The regulars got taken over and clubs just kind of turned into basic top 40 meat market clubs. It had a huge effect on the underground scene which now turned corporate dominant. I liked Cobain.
