Much of Zelle's appeal versus Venmo or PayPal is that it’s instant, and no extra fees are associated with the speed. However, users have taken to Down Detector – a site that tracks outages – and social media platforms to voice issues with the platform.

Outage reports on service trackers like Down Detector and social media sites have largely subsided for most banks but Zelle has been steadily seeing reports for since at least 3 a.m., more than 12 hours of problems with no sign of stopping.

Zelle, the money transfer app, appeared to be having problems Friday morning. Users on Down Detector reported being unable to send money from bank to bank. The reports seemed to begin around 6 a.m. ET, though some users reported problems began last night. "This is very inconvenient," one user complained.
