Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette and Cleveland Browns safety Rayshawn Jenkins both had short nights in their teams' Friday preseason opener, as both were ejected following a fight in the first quarter.

After the Panthers won their second straight Stanley Cup in June, Tkachuk revealed that he had sustained the injuries while playing for Team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off in February. He missed the final 25 games of the NHL regular season but returned for Game 1 of the Panthers’ first-round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Florida Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk has revealed he's undecided about getting surgery prior to the start of the 2025-26 season, according to ESPN's Greg Wyshynski . Tkachuk also stated he could miss significant time if he elects to have the surgery performed. He's still hoping he's able to "hit the ice as soon as possible."
