Ronald Acuña Jr. homered, Spencer Schwellenbach pitched seven strong innings and the Atlanta Braves held off the New York Mets 3-2 in the opener of a four-game series.

Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Soto drilled a two-out, two-run home run against Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach to cut the Mets’ deficit to one run. The homer was the hot-hotting Soto’s eighth of the month and 17th of the season.

Star? The Mets certainly have reason to back the Braves right-hander, who has had his way with them since reaching the Major League level last year.
