OGUNQUIT (WGME) – Jellyfish warnings have been issued by several southern Maine communities along the coast. Ogunquit's fire chief says about six people have been stung in the past week alone. The chief wants beachgoers to keep that in mind if they’re planning to get in the water.

This species, the lion's mane jellyfish, packs a painful sting and has tentacles that can stretch more than 100 feet.
