Willson Contreras had an RBI single in the 10th inning to give the St. Louis Cardinals a 6-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.

Willson Contreras' walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning lifted the St. Louis Cardinals past the visiting Kansas City Royals 6-5 on Thursday in Game 1 of a split doubleheader.

Nick Loftin homered to start a six-run fifth inning, Bobby Witt Jr. also homered and the Kansas City Royals erased a five-run deficit to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 10-7.

Here's Caglianone's first career hit, a double, that brought home his first RBI. The 91.4 mph hit down the first-base line came off Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas. Through this double, Caglianone has seven career plate appearances and hasn't struck out or walked.

Jac Caglianone rounded first base as a big-leaguer for the first time on Thursday, his Kansas City Royals jersey rustling in the wind at Busch Stadium. And he kept going. A loud ovation followed as he stopped at second base with a smile on his face.
