Southern California is getting drenched with the strongest storm of the year to date. Rainfall totals through Friday are expected to surpass two inches in Los Angeles County, Ventura County, the Inland Empire and Santa Barbara County.

A cold front that brought flash flooding and severe thunderstorms to the Southern California region has made its way east, but some scattered shows remain Friday morning.

A swift debris flow swept a Los Angeles Fire Department vehicle off the Pacific Coast Highway and into the ocean as heavy rain fell across Southern California on Thursday, creating deluges of water and mud on roads at the bottom of hillsides left barren by recent wildfires.
