The Mavericks lost six assistant coaches in the last five months. Entering today, Dallas had filled in five of those six positions. The Mavericks hired former head coaches, Jay Triano and Frank Vogel, a former Maverick in Popeye Jones, an NBA champion in Mike Penberthy and recalled their G-League coach Jordan Sears to the staff.

The Dallas Mavericks plan to add longtime NBA assistant coach Popeye Jones as a member of Jason Kidd’s coaching staff next season, a person familiar with the decision told The Dallas Morning News.
