Texas Sen. John Cornyn outraised his Republican challenger, Attorney General Ken Paxton, by $1 million during the first three months of what’s becoming one of the most hotly contested primary battles of the 2026 midterm elections.

CNN reports, Cornyn brought in $3.9 million to Paxton’s $2.9 million between April and June. Paxton is challenging Cornyn in what’s shaping up to be one of next year's hottest-contested primaries.

Ken Paxton, who is running for U.S. Senate against longtime incumbent John Cornyn, asked for prayers and privacy as the pair “start a new chapter in our lives.”
