MassDOT said they have conducted inspects across over 150 points throughout the Boston-area tunnel system after concrete came crashing down on drivers in the Prudential Tunnel last week.

A patch of concrete, measuring about four inches by four to five feet, dropped from the Prudential Tunnel into the middle and left lane of the Turnpike around 2 p.m. Friday.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on the westbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike inside the Prudential Tunnel, said Massachusetts Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver.
