The LSU Tigers returned to the top of college baseball after taking down the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in the 2025 College World Series Finals to capture National Championship No. 8 in program history.

For the second time in three years and the eighth time in program history, LSU is a national champion in baseball. The Tigers downed Coastal Carolina 5-3 Sunday afternoon to cap an undefeated run through the College World Series and climb back to college baseball's mountaintop.

OMAHA, Neb. — LSU knocked previously unbeaten Coastal Carolina ace Jacob Morrison out of the game with a four-run fourth inning and the Tigers won their second national championship in three years Sunday with a 5-3 victory in the College World Series finals.
