Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted he is confident he will be able to welcome four injured players back to the squad in time for his side’s Premier League opener against Manchester United later this month.

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal expect Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel to all be fit for the start of the new season. The defensive trio missed Thursday’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Tottenham in Hong Kong. But Arteta says they are all expected to be ready for the new Premier League season, in a major boost for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta says Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber will all be fit for the start of the Premier League season. Centre-back Gabriel played 45 minutes in Arsenal's win over Watford behind closed doors but has not played any minutes of the tour to Singapore and Hong Kong after picking up an injury in training.
