Southern Colorado areas have seen anywhere from 1 to over 3 feet of snow since Tuesday. Saturday temperatures will stay below normal in the low 40s. The low pressure system will push to the north and the east and that will allow milder air to take over for the second half of the weekend.

Colorado is moving into the third full day of a severe winter storm that has already dropped over a foot of snow in some areas and closed road access to neighboring states. Friday and Saturday are Pinpoint Weather Alert Days as the snow continues and winter storm warnings remain in effect through the weekend.

If the forecasts pan out, the coming days will produce another snowy boost for Colorado’s fledging ski season. Meteorologist Chris Tomer, in his mountain weather update publishe
