Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey, who was already dealing with a finger injury, left the game against Portland midway through the third quarter after appearing to hurt his back during a fall. Maxey got up and went to the locker room after falling and didn't return. He finished with five points and six assists in 23 minutes in the loss.

The Philadelphia 76ers took on the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday already missing Joel Embiid, Paul George, Kelly Oubre Jr., Kyle Lowry, Eric Gordon, and Jared McCain. The idea was not to add to that injury list going forward.

It’s always something holding back the 76ers. They were looking to build off Saturday’s unexpected victory over the Golden State Warriors. Instead, they went back to their losing ways, suffering a 119-102 setback to the Portland Trail Blazers.
