As the DNR works with federal agencies and indigenous tribes around Michigan to rehabilitate the fish, anglers are restricted from pursuing them.
“Coyotes, along with other wildlife like foxes, rabbits, and squirrels, often thrive in areas where food and shelter are easy to find,” the DNR says. “This includes urban areas where residents may unintentionally create ideal spots for these animals.”
The Michigan DNR’s ongoing disease surveillance indicates that HPAI is widespread in wild bird populations throughout the state.
