Tim Anderson pulled a home run in the Los Angeles Angels' spring training game Thursday, doing something he hadn't since his days with the Chicago White Sox.

According to Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington, former batting champion Tim Anderson is going to get some work in the outfield.

Trout will bat third and play right field against Chicago, and left-hander Reid Detmers will start on the mound in that game. This decision by the Angels means the next possible Trout-Ohtani matchup will come on March 5 when these two teams play a spring training contest at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

The Los Angeles Angels signed Moncada to a one-year, $5 million contract earlier this month. Moncada has an excellent opportunity to open the year as the Angels’ starting third baseman, especially after injury-plagued veteran Anthony Rendon suffered a setback in his hip surgery recovery.

Moncada played minimally the last two seasons, and he's looking to prove himself on a one-year contract with the Angels.
