Talk of a potential penalty point ban leaves Max Verstappen claiming it's "p*ssing me off" ahead of the Canadian GP.
Derek Warwick, the former Formula One driver, has been suspended from his role as a steward at this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix after making “unauthorised media comments” about Max Verstappen.
Max Verstappen took issue with a question about his penalty points at the Canadian Grand Prix, describing the discourse as ‘childish’ and stating that he was ‘p***ed off’ by the comments. The Dutchman is one point away from a ban and won’t drop any from his FIA super license until July.
The FIA hit the Red Bull star and four-time world champion with a 10-second penalty in the race, followed by three penalty points on his super license. That means Verstappen enters the Canadian Grand Prix with 11 points total on his super license in total. F1's rules dictate 12 penalty points in a 12-month period trigger a one-race suspension.
George Russell said Max Verstappen tried to show who was the boss when they collided in Spain two weeks ago, but the scare tactics backfired. The Mercedes Formula One driver told British reporters ahead of the 10th round of the season in Montreal that he did not think Red Bull's four-times world champion had tried to deliberately ram him.
