Announced originally at Ignite in November, the scareware blocker in Microsoft Edge is now available in preview in the latest stable channel release of the browser. You’ll need to enable the scareware blocker manually in Edge’s privacy settings, and then restart the browser to get the preview feature.

Search in Bing for "how to uninstall Microsoft Edge," and you'll find a Microsoft support page for how to uninstall Edge. It doesn't tell you how to uninstall Edge.

Microsoft has published a support page titled “ Uninstall Microsoft Edge ” that avoids providing removal instructions in any way, instead using the document to promote Edge’s features over Google Chrome, as reported by Windows Latest. The updated page highlights the following Edge-exclusive tools:

When Microsoft tells you to use its Edge browser, it means it, as an uninstall guide literally doesn't instruct you on how to do it.

To do so, open Edge on your Windows PC, tap on the three horizontal dots on the top right of the screen and click on Settings. On the page that appears, click on “Privacy, search and, services” from the left panel and under ‘Security’, turn on the toggle named ‘Scareware Blocker’. Now, restart Edge and you are good to go.

Microsoft Edge 133 is now rolling out globally, and it ships with several improvements, including a new scareware blocker feature. In addition, Microsoft is updating the backend of the Downloads UI with performance improvements.
