President Donald Trump says that members of his newly created Board of Peace have pledged $5 billion toward rebuilding Gaza and will commit thousands of personnel to international stabilization and police forces for the territory.
President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia will be among those meeting with President Trump in Washington this week to discuss his Board of Peace initiative to oversee a cease-fire in Gaza.
President Trump on Sunday said members of his newly created Board of Peace have pledged $5 billion toward Gaza reconstruction efforts and will commit thousands of personnel to “maintain security and peace” in the territory.
Trump said Board of Peace member states will announce a pledge of more than $5 billion for reconstruction and humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
Trump's Board of Peace does not mention Gaza in its charter, instead hinting at a way to swerve accountability to the United Nations.
