PM Narendra Modi has been invited to attend Bangladesh PM‑elect Tarique Rahman’s swearing‑in ceremony on Feb 17, with Dhaka also reaching out to other regional leaders, as per sources cited in Hindustan Times.
Bangladesh had formally invited Indian PM Modi to attend the event, but he is scheduled to hold talks with French President Macron in Mumbai that day.
Governor Dan McKee will administer separate swearing-in ceremonies today for Superior Court Judge Shannon Signore and Family Court Judges Alberto Aponte Cardona Sr. and Andrea Iannazzi.
Breaking away from tradition, the cabinet's swearing-in ceremony will not be held at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban. Instead, the BNP-led government will commence its tenure this Tuesday from the South Plaza of the National Parliament.
