USGS reports tremors hit southwest Virginia and Tennessee this week

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake rattled parts of Northern California early Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The about 5-mile deep quake hit at about 8:10 a.m. PST, about 7 miles southeast of Willits in Mendocino County.
