PM Narendra Modi and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met at the G7 Summit, agreeing to restore pre-war trade ties. Modi reiterated India's stance for peace, while Zelenskyy highlighted potential for deeper cooperation across various sectors.

Taking to X, PM Modi said he reiterated that India will always be on the side of peace, "placing the values of humanity over everything else."

PM Narendra Modi met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France. The meeting comes as G7 leaders reaffirmed solidarity with Ukraine, vowing to boost its air defence and strengthen sanctions against Russia.

PM Modi called on all countries to safeguard maritime routes. Addressing an outreach session at the G7 Summit on Tuesday, Modi told world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, that the security of international shipping lanes is vital for global trade and economic stability.

The two-day G7 summit in Evian, France is the eighth such event where India has been invited. Before departing for Europe, PM Modi had stated he will be using the platform at the G7 Summit to raise the "aspirations of the Global South.
