Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek ordered the state's flags to fly at half-staff starting at 12:01 a.m. May 25 in honor of Memorial Day.

Oregon’s state flag is notable as the only U.S. state flag with different images on the two sides — a seal on the front and a beaver on the back. Flag enthusiasts say it, too, is due for a redesign.
