The New York Rangers have signed veteran goaltender Jonathan Quick to another one-year contract. A person familiar with the deal tells The Associated Press it is worth $1.55 million.

Quick, who turned 39 in January, will now have a chance to play until he's 40. He's getting that opportunity because he has revived his career in New York the past seasons as the No. 2 behind Igor Shesterkin, who signed a goalie-record contract extension in December.

Jonathan Quick will be back for a 19th NHL season, signing a one-year extension with the New York Rangers for $1.55 million on Wednesday. The 39-year-old Quick is already the all-time leader in wins for an American-born goalie with 402 and sits 14th in NHL history in that category.
