What are phone tracker apps? Phone tracker apps are essentially software installed on a device to track its GPS location, calls, messages, and more. These apps are often used by parents to track their kids’ activity and keep a tab on their whereabouts.
Of course, I’m well aware of the location-sharing features that smartphones offer. Apple and Google both make it easy to let friends and family track your whereabouts, which in turn gives those companies valuable location data (and, in Apple’s case, reinforces the social pressure to have an iPhone ).

Android already warns when your location is being tracked — but not by which apps. That puts the onus on users to play detective, diving into privacy settings to work out which apps need to be curtailed or even removed. Few do that. This makes it easy.
