LOS ANGELES (AP) — LeBron James is ready for contact basketball activity, and he will be re-evaluated by the Los Angeles Lakers’ team physician in one to two weeks as he prepares to begin his unprecedented 23rd NBA season.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday that LeBron James has been cleared for contact basketball activities and will be re-evaluated in one to two weeks. James has missed the first nine games of the season while dealing with sciatica, a pain that travels along the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back, through the glute and down the leg.
