According to scientists at the National Ice Center, Lake Erie is around 80% frozen over. The remaining percentage should be covered in upcoming storm.

Lake effect snow might not be sticking around much longer — and it all comes down to what’s happening under the surface of Lake Erie.

Ice has been seen on Lake Erie since the end of November, but, as normal, the amount has been fluctuating. Much like our temperatures do.
