CHICAGO ( WGN) — A Chicago firefighter was seriously injured while battling a fire on the city’s Far North Side on Monday. The fire broke out just before noon in the 1700 block of West North Shore Avenue in the Rogers Park neighborhood, according to fire officials.

One person was injured this weekend in a townhome fire in the southwest Chicago suburb of Orland Park, which officials said may have been exacerbated by hoarding.

The city has promised to offer long-term housing, but some advocates are voicing doubts about the plan to move roughly 20 residents out of the Legion Park encampment Tuesday.
