The quakes come as California sees the effects of an atmospheric river that has caused flash flooding, rescues, and landslides.

For more than a month, the Bay Area has been subjected to a seemingly ceaseless stampede of earthquakes, rattling windows and raising fears across California.

A series of earthquakes struck near San Ramon on Sunday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

A swarm of at least a dozen earthquakes reaching up to magnitude 3.9 rattled San Ramon near San Francisco, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.

On Monday morning, around 30 minor earthquakes erupted in a swarm near the Geysers geothermal field south of Clear Lake. The day before, seven quakes rattled Sonoma County, including a 4.0 quake. The recent uptick isn’t out of the ordinary, according to U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Susan Hough.

The quake came only eight days after three earthquakes shook the area in the course of about 100 minutes. More than 30 quakes also were recorded between midnight and 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 8, according to CalTech’s California Earthquake Center.
