An arctic blast and a bomb cyclone could hit the Eastern U.S. simultaneously this weekend, causing another winter storm.

At least 30 deaths have been reported in states afflicted with severe cold, including two people run over by snowplows in Massachusetts and Ohio.

Winter Storm Fern is gone, but tens of thousands of people across the South are dealing with life-threatening cold without power and heat. The storm is blamed for at least two dozen deaths. Now, another round of frigid air is on the way.

The weather forecast shows a major winter storm could hit Boston this weekend with heavy snow.

In the wake of the heavy snow and ice from parts of the Midwest through much of the Northeast, Mother Nature will be unrelenting. Fierce cold will persist and the atmosphere will deliver yet more rounds of snow in some areas.

Palm Beach County will get a blast of cold weather this week, but the cold front won’t be as intense as what millions faced with the winter storm.

What will happen?: The forecast could change, and change again, before the weekend. While forecasters are fairly confident that a storm will develop, key details — including its strength, where it will go and how much snow or ice it will deliver — remained uncertain on Tuesday.

Arctic air is settling in behind a departing winter storm, bringing dangerously cold temperatures through much of the week. A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect during the overnight hours .
