Apple has a big vaporware problem, Apple Intelligence's smart Siri, but I still want that smart AI assistant on the iPhone.

Apple continues to inform customers that a more personalized version of Siri has been delayed. As noted by 9to5Mac today, Apple has added

Apple Intelligence, announced in June, was expected to include an enhanced version of Siri, the company’s voice assistant. These heavily-anticipated new features are designed to improve Siri’s understanding of user context and ability to interact more effectively with applications.

After announcing its most important Apple Intelligence feature, a super-powered Siri, would be delayed, Apple added a disclaim to its site.

Apple is delaying some of the Apple Intelligence Siri features that it expected to release in iOS 18, an Apple spokesperson said in a statement

While Apple hasn’t provided a specific release timeline, it’s likely the “future software update” will be part of iOS 19. The first developer beta for iOS 19 is expected at WWDC in June this summer. However, the update that includes these features could arrive anytime between fall 2025 and summer 2026, so it might be a while.

After admitting that AI-powered upgrades to Siri are taking “longer than we thought,” Apple has added a disclaimer to its iPhone 16, 16E, and 16 Pro product pages warning that some features “will be available with a future software update.
