Thousands of anti-Trump protests are erupting across the United States this weekend under the banner of “No Kings” day.

The American Civil Liberties Union, a part of the coalition said in a June 14 statement that more than five million people participated in over 2,100 rallies and protests, Fox News reported. The same number was mentioned by other groups that had put together the protest.

Organizers are calling for Americans to attend demonstrations across the country to protest President Trump on his 79th birthday.

The protests were largely peaceful, with a strong police presence ensuring safety, as reports emerged of political violence in Minnesota. In downtown Miami, a large crowd gathered

The "No Kings National Day of Mobilizations" is scheduled to take place nationwide Saturday, June 14, with hundreds planned across.

Hundreds came out in the rain in Evansville, the Courier & Press reported, to protest outside the Winfield K. Denton Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse. Two advocacy groups, Indivisible Evansville and Evansville Resistance, organized the protest.

The protests were widely peaceful with large turnouts in both metropolitan cities like Los Angeles and New York, and rural, red-leaning counties across the United States. And, according to NPR, events were also held in Germany and France.

Utah resident Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, 39, was shot and critically wounded during the protest in Salt Lake City on Saturday, June 14. He later died in the hospital from his injuries, the Salt Lake City Police Department confirmed in a news release.
