A man convicted of killing his estranged wife has died after spending more than four decades on Florida's death row. Robert Peede, 81, died Monday at Florida State Prison in Starke, according to Florida Department of Corrections records.
Now, 37-year-old Blake Elliot Hornsby is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 64-year-old mom, identified as Mary Jane Ward of Georgia, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies wrote in a news release that the agency got a 911 call asking law enforcement to respond to a home in Ebro the afternoon of July 23.
