Elvis Andrus was a 20-year-old kid when he went to spring training in 2009 with the Texas Rangers to be their starting shortstop. He is now in their Hall of Fame.

The Texas Rangers inducted Elvis Andrus into the franchise’s Hall of Fame on Saturday, presenting the all-time fan-favorite with a couple of fitting speeches along with the traditional bronze plaque.

Andrus was integral to the most sustained long-term era of success in Rangers history. From his rookie season through 2016, a span of eight years, the Rangers had only one losing season and didn’t play past Game 162 only twice.
