Newly released surveillance video shows customers and staff of a Chick-fil-A running out of the fast food restaurant in a panic after police said an off-duty officer shot and killed a man who was chasing two people with a knife.

The incident occurred around 5:27 p.m. when two individuals ran into the crowded Back Bay restaurant, attempting to escape a man wielding a knife.

Video from a surveillance camera next door to the restaurant showed employees and customers running from the restaurant. Three minutes later, the video showed first responders arriving at the location.
