Is there any place nearby where you can lock up your valuables if you are not taking a car to this area? I would really like to snorkel at this reef, but plan to bike from my hotel there.

No, not really. But I don’t think you need to worry about it. We were just there today. There were maybe 5-10 groups of people, maybe 2-4 in each group. Everyone was sharing tips & pointers about where to go, what they saw, etc. no one is after your stuff. Good luck, bring aqua shoes (avoid stepping in hidden sea urchin) and have a blast. -Ryan

Sorry for the delay. Its best to bring your own. I just bought a new snorkel set on Amazon and it was very inexpensive. The reef is only 150 feet from the beach. You are absolutely going to be amazed and love it. I would recommend going into the water where the look out point is and then go to the right. The corals and sea life are stunning. Have a great trip!
We are stopping in Grand Turks on a cruise ship and want to snorkel at Smith's Reef. I am wondering what is the best way to get there and how do I know where to go and access the beach.

I think you would be very hard pressed to travel from Grand Turk to Provo, where Smith's reef is located, and still have enough time to snorkel.
